Mechatronics is the integration of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, and control theory for designing intelligent systems. Mechatronic systems are used in automotive systems, aerospace systems, consumer electronics, and robotics. The Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory at Tarbiat Modares University is managed by Dr. Majid Sadedel within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on applied design. This lab specializes in the development of robots and robotic systems for various medical applications, including surgery, rehabilitation, and mobile robots. In this lab, students study mechanical systems, control systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, machine vision, and electronics. Computer-aided programming is also utilized for operating the designed and built mechanical systems.
